NFA Fingerprinting

Fingerprints for NFA and suppressor applications.

Individual or trust, one responsible person or five — we print everyone in a single appointment and produce the format your filing needs.

Where fingerprints fit in an NFA application

Every NFA application involving an individual or a trust's responsible persons requires fingerprints and a photograph. It's the step people most often get wrong, and it's the step most likely to add weeks to an already long wait.

Filing through ATF eForms, you attach an EFT file. Filing on paper, you mail FD-258 cards in duplicate to the NFA Division within ten business days. Either way, we produce it here.

Individual or trust

An individual registration is simpler: one person, one set of prints, one photo.

A trust lets more than one person legally possess the item, which is why many buyers prefer it — but every responsible person carries their own fingerprint and photo obligation. Four responsible persons means four sets of prints. Bring everyone at once: additional people are $25 each in the same appointment rather than $50 on separate visits.

What to bring

  • Government photo ID for every person being printed.
  • Trust documents, if filing as a trust.
  • The exact legal names as they'll appear on the application.
  • Any instructions from the dealer you purchased the item through.

Doing it all in one visit

If the suppressor is being transferred through us, the fingerprints, the photo and the Form 4 paperwork happen in the same appointment. That's the whole reason this office exists — see how a suppressor transfer works.

10Scan — live-scan fingerprint and ATF eForm platform

We are a 10Scan partner. Your prints are captured on an FBI-certified live scanner and delivered as the EFT file ATF eForms requires — and if you already hold an FD-258 card, we can convert it into a valid EFT instead of reprinting you. See how the digital Form 4 process works →

We prepare fingerprint products commonly used in NFA application workflows. Customers remain responsible for ensuring their submission meets current ATF requirements. Those requirements can change — ATF has an open proposal to amend fingerprint and photograph requirements for firearms applications.
