What Cerakote actually does

Cerakote is a thin ceramic-based coating that is baked onto the metal. It is not paint. It resists corrosion, solvents and holster wear, and it adds almost nothing to the dimensions of the part — which matters on anything with tight tolerances.

People come to us for it for two reasons: a firearm has started to show rust or finish wear and they want it protected, or they simply want it to look like theirs rather than like everyone else's.

What we coat

• Complete firearms — full refinish, disassembled and coated properly rather than sprayed assembled.
• Slides and frames — the most common request, and the one that changes a pistol's look most.
• Barrels and handguards.
• Individual components — controls, triggers, small parts for accent colours.
• Suppressors — high-temperature coatings where appropriate.

Colours and patterns

Solid colours through to multi-colour patterns, camouflage, distressed and battleworn finishes. If you have a picture of what you want, bring it — describing a finish in words rarely goes well for anybody.

How long it takes

Turnaround depends on the work queue and on how much disassembly the piece needs. We will give you a realistic date when you drop it off, not an optimistic one.

Pricing

Quoted per piece. A single-colour slide and a full multi-colour rifle are very different jobs, so a flat price list would only mislead you. Call or email photographs and we will quote it.
