About Us
American Patriot Outdoors LLC serves Houston with firearms, ammo and optics, plus the services most shops send you elsewhere for: transfers, NFA work, fingerprinting, gunsmithing, Cerakote and training.
American Patriot Outdoors LLC — known to most customers as HTX Guns — is a family-owned gun shop in West Houston. We sell firearms, ammunition, optics and accessories to people who value freedom, the outdoors, and getting a straight answer from someone who actually knows the paperwork.
We hold a Type 07 Federal Firearms License (#5-76-201-07-7B-06880) and a Class 2 Special Occupational Tax registration. In plain terms: we can manufacture firearms, deal in them, and transfer NFA items such as suppressors — in-house.
That licence combination is exactly why this services side exists. A shop without an SOT sends you elsewhere for your suppressor. A fingerprinting kiosk can't hold it for you. Here it's one counter, one visit.
Bought online, out of state, or from a private seller? Have it shipped to our FFL. $35 for the first firearm, $20 each additional in the same shipment. Bring valid photo ID, we run the NICS check, you're out the door.
How a firearm transfer works →
As a Class 2 SOT we handle eligible NFA transfers directly. $85 per incoming item — or $0 if you buy the suppressor from us. Form 4, fingerprints and photo all happen in the same appointment.
How suppressor transfers work →
Electronic capture producing EFT files for ATF eForms or printed FD-258 cards. The scanner checks each impression as it's taken, so a bad roll is redone on the spot instead of coming back rejected weeks later. $50 first person, $25 each additional.
Fingerprinting in Houston →
Repairs, upgrades, installs and diagnosis — barrels, triggers, grips and specialist work. The jobs that need someone who has done it before rather than a video and a punch set. Call for a quote on your specific piece.
Arranged through our partner network. Firearm refinishing in Cerakote — durable, corrosion-resistant, in a wide range of colours and patterns. Full firearms, slides, barrels and components. Pricing depends on the piece and the pattern, so call and tell us what you have in mind.
Run with our training partners. Firearms training for new owners and experienced shooters. Whether you've just bought your first handgun or you want to be genuinely competent rather than merely armed, ask what's on the schedule.
Our Type 07 licence lets us manufacture, not only sell — builds, custom work and serialised manufacturing under our own FFL.

Most people needing NFA fingerprints are part-way through buying a suppressor. Most people transferring a firearm bought online will need something else eventually — an optic mounted, a barrel threaded, a slide coated. Splitting that across three businesses costs you a day and gets you three different answers.
